Our Grassroots Research
At The Salik Project UK we believe in continuous research into the subject of addiction and recovery. Or research to date has taken the form of focus groups shaped and delivered by people with lived-experience. We have also made a firm commitment to share our findings on our website so that the public and other organisations working in the field of recovery can benefit from the insights. The landscape of substance misuse is forever-changing and we believe that it is incumbent upon us as a community to stay up to speed, informed and ready for early intervention programmes.
Our research is rooted in qualitative approaches because we believe that hard statistics alone can never capture the stories and experiences behind the numbers. Anyone working in recovery knows that no two stories are the same and that there are so many factors - from wider societal and cultural attitudes to the personal circumstances of the individual - that need to be understood in order to provide long-term help and support for those in need. Our research puts the experiences of individuals, families and communities front and centre. This helps us to shape and guide our projects.
We welcome any research institutes and independent researchers to work with us in this regard.
